Vestige: a Pop Up Uhaul Show at the Packing Plant- Nashville, TN

August 15, 2016 By Amber Briggs

Vestige: a trace of something that is disappearing or no longer exists.

Amber Davis Briggs and Macon St. Hilaire use objects in a way that retains a trace of their previous lives. Gleaning inspiration from materials, these two artists distill the essence of things and assign value to disappearing ideas. The question of what to keep and what to discard is always difficult yet it must be addressed.

These works are an echo, an homage, an attempt to preserve, and an adaption. These collective actions bring a vestige forward in time.
